BloodLetter

This is a second-year group project in which I worked with two other artists and two coders to create a 'game demo' - in our case, the opening level - in around a week. I took on a team leader/ scrum master role, as well as being the lead animator. I was personally in charge of all the animation for the boss enemy. I also animated the explosion, worked with our character animator on some rough animations for the player character and helped design a lot of the game's narrative and mechanics. We were assessed more on our teamwork and planning than on the actual output and I achieved a grade of 92% for the module.

The game is a 'Metroidvanian' boss-rush in which the player must defeat bosses to acquire abilities that allow them to progress to other areas of the map. It is centred around a man who steals a sword from the 'ancients' and suffers the consequences, in the form of the tar-like beings taking their vengeance on his world. The player must defeat these beings in order to release the souls of the man's family suffering inside. It runs in Unity, with the art and animation having been completed using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Animate.
