14 Second Animation
[Watch With Sound]
This is a short 14 Second animation created for a university project; we were to animate the provided rig to one of a selection of predetermined sound-clips. The idea evolved throughout, at one point even involving an ill-fated fire-fighter breaking into a burning building, but was always similar to how it appears now because the audio evoked strong imagery of what eventually became the final piece. The audio was also rigid - meaning that only the intent and context could change, not the broad actions and timings - once the clip was selected and animation had begun. It was a fairly standard animation process, though this was really my first time delving into 3D animation in an in-depth way. I used a few more advanced techniques such as a 'link constraint' to constrain the axe to the character's hand and a 'cutter-object' with a 'pro-cutter Boolean' to slice a hole in the door in order to properly animate it cracking open. No physics simulations were used; everything was hand animated.
